Wesley J. “Wes” Coulson
Wes Coulson is a certified elder law attorney and the principal of Coulson Elder Law. He earned his B.A., with honors, from Northwestern University and his J.D. from The University of Michigan. He is a member of the Illinois State and Missouri Bar, the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, the St. Louis Estate Planning Council and the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis.
Wes lectures frequently and presents classes on his vast experience and knowledge. He has published many articles on Medicaid eligibility planning: The Purchase of or Exchange for a Life Estate Interest as a Medicaid Eligibility Planning Technique, The Use of Caregiver Services Contracts, and Opening the Door Gently and Dealing with Life Insurance in Medicaid Eligibility Planning. Wes holds Life and Health Insurance Producer’s licenses, as well as a Series 6 Securities Broker’s license. He is married and lives in Freeburg, Illinois.
Amy L. Friederich
Amy L. Friederich was born and raised in O’Fallon, Illinois. She earned her B.A. in Legal Studies from Webster University and went on to work for the Probate and Trust Department of the American Cancer Society. She later earned her J.D. from Southern Illinois University Carbondale in 2013. She is a member of the Illinois State and Missouri Bar and admitted in three federal district courts.
Prior to joining Coulson Elder Law, Amy practiced insurance defense law for Wiedner & McAuliffe of Clayton, Missouri, where she gained valuable litigation experience. She has published a variety of articles, including a law review article for the Illinois Association of Healthcare Attorneys titled Examining the Concerns of Illinois’ Civil Commitment Proceedings: An Alternative Approach to Improve Prevention and Treatment of Mental Illnesses.
Amy currently lives in St. Louis City, where she also teaches yoga part-time.
Jyothi “Jo” Jayasimha
Jyothi “Jo” Jayasimha serves as the Application Technician at Coulson Elder Law. With three degrees, including a masters and law degree, from Osmania University in Hyderabad, India, a Paralegal Certificate, and customer service experience, Jo has extensive knowledge in the area of law, customer assistance, and communication.
Before joining the Coulson Elder Law team, Jo provided excellent customer service at Elder–Beerman and Foley’s Department Stores from 1993-1996. She then went on to work for the Law Offices of Doraswamy, in Boston, Massachusetts, where she interviewed clients and prepared documents for visas. In May 2005, Jo joined Sridharan & Associates in Hyderabad, India, where her duties included preparing legal briefs, reviewing government regulations, and filing required documents with the Registrar of Companies. Later, she earned her Medical Coding Certification in 2007. Jo then went on to work for The Law Office of Cathy Steele, in Clayton, Missouri where she completed a paralegal internship while she attended St. Louis Community College for her paralegal certificate. In 2010, Jo moved on to work for Intermed Medical Consultants until she joined the team of Coulson Elder Law. Jo has outstanding analytical and communication skills, which aid her in assisting clients to successfully obtain VA and Medicaid benefits.
Jo resides in Chesterfield with her family and enjoys visiting family around the country.
Outreach & Client Services Coordinator
Robin Deutschmann is a brand management, digital marketing, social media and SEO specialist. She is accomplished in developing community outreach programs, coordinating events, and conceptualizing realistic and maintainable digital strategies for small businesses. When you call Coulson Elder Law, you may likely speak with Robin first. Along with maintaining the Coulson Elder Law Web site, implementing outreach strategies and creating the weekly Newsletter, Robin also is the liaison between clients and staff.
Robin comes from Southern California where she ran a successful photography training business with her husband. She revels in Website and graphic design, writing, video editing, and creating engaging content for small business Web platforms and enthusiastically brings her expertise in these specialized skills to Coulson Elder Law.
Ziggy Coulson is the youngest staff member and official mascot at Coulson Elder Law. Naturally enough, he took the title of “greeter” as well. Ziggy embraces his job titles, and is eager every day to come to work.
In his off time, Ziggy enjoys long walks in the park, chasing balls, and receiving attention.
