What you will learn at our Free Workshops

The single, biggest threat to your ability, as an older person, to leave an inheritance to your family is long-term care costs. So how can you protect your life savings? Our free and highly informative workshops offer insights on just that!

In this Elder Law Minute video, Wes Coulson, Illinois Elder Law attorney, discusses Medicaid; the five-year Look-Back rule; VA Aid and Attendance benefits; long-term care costs; and how you, with Asset Preservation Planning, can protect your life savings.

How to Protect Your Savings from Long-Term Care Costs

There’s a lot of confusion and misinformation out there about the Medicaid “look-back rule”.  Maybe you’ve heard – perhaps you’ve even been told by a caseworker, a care advisor or even an attorney – that if your loved one is already in a care facility, or about to enter one, it’s too late to do anything to help them protect their life savings from being lost to long-term care costs. Maybe you’ve heard that you have to plan at least 5 years in advance.

Well, I have some great news to share:  that’s just not true!  Despite the “look- back rule,” we help people every day – within the rules, of course – with planning that succeeds in protecting a significant amount of their life savings.  In fact, I’ll make you this guarantee: even if your loved one is already a nursing home resident, we can protect at least half of his or her remaining life savings and in many cases quite a bit more. Of course, if you’re wise enough to plan in advance, you can protect even more.

Please come to our workshop, and find out what we can do to help protect your family’s hard-earned life savings.

Cordially,

Wes Coulson
